“The Apostasy”

  jumma

II Thessalonians 2:3

“Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first…”

Modern day prophecy teachers frequently steer their followers to look at the condition of the culture in America as proof that the return of Jesus is near. Now I am in agreement that the return of Jesus is near, but their attention on American culture needs to be refocused.

Merriam-Webster defines “apostasy” as a renunciation of religious faith. Has the United States made a renunciation of Christian faith? Certainly many in America have. One could even make the argument that our government is hostile to Christianity. But According to a 2008 Gallup poll, 78% of Americans identify themselves as Christians. Although many may not be living their lives as Christ would, their backslidden ways, although problematic, are not renunciations of their Christian faith.

So what is this apostasy Paul is warning us about in the letter to the Thessalonians?

In order to understand what Paul was referring to we need to look to the Middle East. When prophetic verses in the Bible are evaluated in light of history and the Middle East everything begins to come in crystal clear.

Christianity continued to spread throughout the Middle East and Europe on the heels of Paul’s three missionary journeys. Churches sprang up throughout the world. It was not until the introduction of Islam that the apostasy began. Today in the Middle East Islam dominates the region. Christianity has been decimated. The apostasy, or falling away, Paul talked about has been in full force for over 1,400 years. If only those apostates had heeded Jesus warning:

Matthew 24:13

“But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”

To understand how this happened to the Christian world we need to understand what motivated the Islamists and what the Christians had to endure after the introduction of Islam to their living environments. Islam is supremacist by nature. The Qur’an states that Islam must reign supreme. Through Jihad and the introduction of a group of rules governing the living conditions for Non-Muslims Islam easily pounded submission into the consciousness of the infidel.

The Islamists that moved into new territories typically gave occupants of a given culture three options. Option number one was to convert to Islam. The second option for the occupant was execution if they would not convert to Islam or submit to Islamic authority. The final option was for those who did not want to convert to Islam but were willing to submit to the authority of Islamic law. These people were willing to live as second-class citizens and abide by Islamic rules governing their way of life and behavior. They also had to pay a poll tax called the Jizya. This was in accordance with Islamic Law.

Qur’an 9:29

“Make War on those who have received the Scriptures [Jews and Christians] but do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day. They do not forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden. The Christians and Jews do not follow the religion of truth until they SUBMIT and pay the poll tax [Jizya], and they are HUMILIATED.”

These second-class citizens, Dhimmis, were a great source of revenue for the Islamists. Dhimmis also had a variety of restrictions imposed on them by the Islamists. These rules (sometimes called the Treaty of Omar, Pact of Umar, or Conditions of Omar) restricted the Dhimmis from:

  1. Building or repairing churches
  2. Worshipping the God of the Bible publicly
  3. Displaying crosses or Bibles
  4. Clanging cymbals, ringing church bells, or singing hymns that Muslims may hear.
  5. Riding on horses
  6. Proselytizing
  7. Blasphemy (Any statements critical of Mohammed or Islam)

These rules of Dhimmitude also had some requirements for the infidel:

  1. Dhimmis must maintain a humble attitude
  2. Dhimmis must cut the hair from the forehead
  3. Dhimmis must wear certain clothes and a belt to identify themselves
  4. Dhimmis must offer lodging for Muslims
  5. Dhimmis must keep homes lower than Muslim homes.

Bill Warner makes this observation in his book, A Self-Study Course on Political Islam:

“The actual attitude of Islam toward the dhimmis was more contempt than hatred, and over time the dhimmis disappeared. They either left or converted. It was too hard to be a second-class citizen, and the extra taxes were a burden. As time went on, both Christians and Jews became more Arabic in their outlook; they started to treat women as the Arabs did and their customs became more and more Islamic. Finally it was easier to accept Islam as their religion and stop all the pressure and contempt.”

These people were true apostates. They had renounced their faith completely. Jesus warned us to endure to the end. He warned us that we would be hated and experience persecution. Many failed to heed Jesus’ warnings. That is how the apostasy has come and how Islam has come to dominate the once Christian world of the Middle East.

Here is the point. It appears that Christians have two options available when confronted with Islamic governance. Christians may choose to maintain their faith and NOT submit to Islamic authority. Many have chosen this path

Rev 6:9-11

“I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be completed also.”

The other option is to follow the words of Jesus:

Matthew 24:13

“But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”

Apostasy should NEVER be an option!

Will The U.S. Dollar Fail and Be Replaced By A One World Currency?

images

“The economy is crumbling…the Dollar will fail and be replaced…the U.S. economy will be handed over to the antichrist.” If you have ever read anything about Bible prophecy I am sure you have heard statements such as this. These types of comments are uttered so often one would think they are actually written about in the Bible. The people who write and read the books that make these sorts of statements claim that they are; but are they really?

I believe it is high time for people who call themselves Christians to learn to discern information that they hear and read in books from information actually written in the Bible. Christians need to stop carrying the torch for those that are basing their beliefs on things that are not validated by Scripture.  This view about the U.S. economy is a case in point.

Bible teachers that write and speak about Bible prophecy continue to parrot each other and repeat the same “bad” information so often that Christians treat these positions as if they are based in Biblical Truth. To disagree with them would be to “disagree with the Bible.” I reject that assertion. If we are all seeking the Truth of Scripture we need to be discerning enough, and mature enough, to follow the information to a logical conclusion, even if it contradicts our preconceived positions.

This is especially true in the case of Bible prophecy. A challenger to ones preconceived views is often viewed as a “heretic,” just because the view has been held as “Biblical Truth” for such a long time. I will address many of these false “truths” in the course of writing this blog.

To be sure, our economy is in shambles. Our debt is out of sight and our impotent government continues to make the Dollar weaker. Is this indicative of a fulfillment of Bible prophecy, or is it just more evidence of a rouge and fiscally irresponsible government?

What we must first understand is that the Bible is a collection of books with the Middle East as its focus. Americans have been conditioned to view the Bible through American lenses. We need to change our glasses and view the Bible the way God intended it to be viewed. Most of us grew up with an “American” view of the Bible, but the focus of the Bible is always on Jerusalem, Israel, and the nations surrounding Israel. That is why books written about the United States and Bible prophecy should have empty pages. The United States is not the focus of God’s prophetic plan. Read your Bible if you do not believe this, not the books written by prophecy teachers.

Now, onto to our case study. How do these teachers come to conclusion that the U.S. economy will fail and the U.S. Dollar will cease to exist? The first problem associated with the idea that the U.S. Dollar will fail is the idea that the antichrist will rule over the entire world. This is false for a number of reasons. Walid Shoebat addressed this very topic in a wonderful article entitled Where is America in Bible Prophecy?  These prophecy teachers conclude,  “If a one-world-government controls the economy, they will implement a single form of currency. After all, isn’t that what the European Union did?” In addition to this view of a one-world-government, there is one verse that prophecy teachers use to show a single world monetary system and the collapse of the American Dollar.

Rev 13:17

17 “and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.”

Now I ask you…is there any place in this verse that talks about the U.S. Dollar or any other currency? The fact is, this verse is discussing individuals inability to purchase items NOT because of the currency they hold, but because of their allegiance and loyalty to Jesus. Let me put it this way. It does not matter what currency you hold when you enter Costco to shop. In the Untied States the Dollar is used. In Mexico, it is the Peso. The important thing needed in order to shop at Costco is not the currency. If a shopper does not have a Costco Card, the shopper will not even enter the store to shop. In the same way, followers of Jesus will not be able to buy or sell under this system.

I recently talked to a missionary visiting our church from Chad, Africa. His ministry was to Muslims in the area. I asked him what the attitude towards Christians was as a result of the Arab Spring across the Middle East. His response was a little bit surprising. He mentioned how the Muslims he dealt with were not violent towards them, but they were forced to buy all of their supplies from Muslim businesses. Is it such a stretch to think that the Islamists would not even allow Christians to purchase items from them? This is already happening in many areas of the Muslim world.

This is just one verse that is used to perpetuate a wrong view of Biblical Eschatology. As Christians, we need to be diligent to study God’s Word and distinguish fact from fantasy. It won’t be easy; there are many that are entrenched in a false narrative that they have been following for years. I know, I was one of them.

WHY I BELIEVE THE BIBLE, AND WHY YOU SHOULD TOO

images

Reason number 10

Have you ever considered how Christianity could have possibly grown into the world’s largest religion given the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the life and death of Jesus? How could Christianity have such exponential growth in the first century unless it is true? Granted, Islam and Hinduism have also grown to be quite large, but the growth of Christianity is truly without comparison.

The Bible records how Jesus lived His life and began His ministry.  He typically had a small group of followers (Apostles) that he would teach. He frequently had conflicts with the Jewish leaders. They were threatened by his followers and teachings, which they felt contradicted their own Scriptures, and His growing popularity. He was knowledgeable about the Scriptures and He had a keen understanding of His role.

The Bible records how Jesus spent time with sinners, forgave their sin, and met their physical needs. He healed people and, on at least two occasions, fed several thousand people with only a couple of fish and loaves of bread. Several days before He was arrested He was hailed as King as He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.

The religious leaders hated Jesus. They had Him arrested and brought before the Roman leader Pontius Pilate. Even one of His Apostles denied knowing Him when one of the people identified him as an associate of Jesus. Pilate found no fault in Him, but in an effort to appease the Jews He offered them the chance to have Jesus released. The people chose to have another prisoner released and have Jesus executed by crucifixion. He went from being hailed as the King just a few days before to being arrested and given a sentence of death, even though Pilate found no fault in Him.

Jesus was executed by crucifixion. His followers were disillusioned. The message of Jesus looked like it would die along with the rebel leader. But that is NOT what happened. The Bible records Jesus resurrection on the third day. Jesus appeared to His Apostles and others for a period of forty days. It is estimated that there were over five hundred people that saw Jesus following His resurrection. The reality of so many witnesses could explain why Christianity spread so quickly.

Think about this for a minute. If Jesus did not rise again and His message was buried in the tomb with Him, then who would be willing to carry out the message of a lie? What would be their motivation? Would there be enough of them willing to carry out this false message? I believe the answer to this is NO. Not only were there many witness to Jesus after His resurrection, eleven of Jesus’s twelve Apostles were martyred for their faith. Would all of these men be willing to die for a lie? Would you be willing to die for a lie?

I know what you are thinking. Islamists die for a lie all the time. In fact, Islam teaches that the only way a Muslim can be assured of going to heaven is by dying for Allah during Jihad. Muslims are deceived and desperate to be assured of salvation. This is a much different scenario than what the first century Christians experienced. They saw the resurrected Christ and were willing to die in the process of sharing His message of love, hope, and redemption. The explosion of Christianity in the Middle East can only be explained by the fact that so many people saw Jesus after His resurrection, and His followers were empowered by the truth of His message that they were willing to die for their faith.

Over half the people in the world believe that Abraham is father of their religion. The Jews missed the Messiah when he came, and the Muslims believed a different Gospel. There is no comparison between the Koran, Hadith, and Sira and the Bible. There is no comparison between Muhammad and Jesus. There is no comparison between Yahweh and allah. This is why I BELIEVE THE BIBLE, AND YOU SHOULD TOO.

The FAITH of Obama

http:/

I do not claim to know what President Obama believes in his heart. I can tell you, based on his behavior, that he is no follower of Christ. It becomes crystal clear when watching the video of Alan Keyes and Barak Obama in this video from a senatorial debate just how empty his perception of Jesus is. Jesus said He IS the way, the truth, and the life. There is only one way to God, and that is through Jesus!

President Obama claims he spent twenty years in Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s Church. Reverend Wright is hardly a man that encourages his members to love their neighbors as themselves, which is what Jesus taught is the second most important commandment He gave. The most important commandment was to the love the Lord your God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. He said if you love me you will keep My commandments. Jeremiah Wright is known to speak out against the United States, Israel, and the Jewish people.

I don’t know if Obama is Muslim or not, but he is certainly sensitive to the Islamic goals. He sides with the Muslim brotherhood, and has demonstrated distain for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He has even gone so far to make it a high priority to encourage Muslims in NASA’s space program. How can someone who claims to be a Christian have such animosity towards other Christians, Jews, and Israel?

Why has Obama been silent when Christians and Jews in the Middle East are being slaughtered on a daily basis? How can he even consider arming rebels in Syria that have demonstrated hate towards the United States and Israel?

We will all be held accountable for the things that we do in this life. If Obama is truly a follower of Jesus, he needs to wake up and realize what this battle is all about, instead of making statements before the general assembly of the United Nations that the future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.

Christian Persecution Elevates in Egypt: Now Called a “Pandemic” as Slaughter Ensues by Muslim Brotherhood (Video)

The religion of peace strikes again….at Christians! Is anyone surprised?

WHY I BELIEVE THE BIBLE, AND WHY YOU SHOULD TOO

Reason number 9

The ninth reason I’m giving for the reason I believe the Bible is the person of Jesus Christ. I’m sure there are many that do not believe he was the Messiah, or God’s son, but based on what the Bible has to say, there is ample evidence to show that He is both.

The Bible contains well 300 prophecies about Jesus. These prophecies address nearly every aspect of His life. Specifics about His birth, ministry, and death are given in the minutest detail. Secular historical writer, Simon Sebag Montefiore, wrote in his national Bestseller, Jerusalem, that “it is clear that (Jesus) was steeped in knowledge of the Jewish Bible and everything he did was a meticulous fulfillment of its prophecies.” Even a secular writer can acknowledge that, but so many of the prophecies concerning Jesus life were items that were out of His control. No mater how meticulous He was he was unable to orchestrate events surrounding his bloodline, birth, method of his execution, and events that included other people, even after His death.

Luke 24:13-27 tells a story about two men who were walking to Emmaus after Jesus was resurrected. They did not recognize Jesus as they were walking with Him. Jesus eventually revealed Himself to them and gave them an Old Testament Bible study. Verse 27 says:

“Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.”

The entire Bible is about Jesus. Every book, story, and event is a picture of Jesus and what He was going to do. Take the story of Abraham offering up his son Isaac in Genesis 22. Abraham did exactly what God instructed Him to do. Abraham told Isaac that “God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering. “ The Angel of the Lord stopped Abraham just before he was going to kill his son. Hebrews 11:19 says:

“He (Abraham) considered that God is able to raise people even from the dead, from which he also received him (Isaac) back as a type.”

On two occasions the Israelites had to receive water from a rock. Moses was instructed to strike the rock the first time. He did and water came out. The second time they needed water Moses was supposed to talk to the rock. Moses was upset with the Israelites and struck the rock again. This was in direct opposition to what God had told to do. Again, this was a picture of Jesus. Jesus was stuck once, not twice. 1 Corinthians 10:4 tells us that the Rock was Christ.

Another example of Moses comes in the book of Numbers, chapter 21. God sent poisonous serpents among the Israelites. They complained to Moses about these poisonous snakes. God instructed Moses to raise up a bronze serpent on a standard. When the Israelites would look upon the bronze serpent after having been bitten, they would be healed. I’m sure you are familiar with John 3:16, arguably the most famous verse in the Bible. But two verses prior to that show how God used events in the Old Testament to teach about the saving work of Christ.

14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.

16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

There are only a few options when deciding who Jesus is. He was either a lunatic, a liar, or He was who He said He was in the Bible. Given the previous eight reasons why I believe the Bible, along with over 300 prophecies concerning every detail of His life, Is there really any way one can conclude that He is anything other than the Son of God and our Messiah? Based on the evidence, I say not a chance.

Who is the MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD?

If you have seen the recent news coming out of Egypt you would see the Muslim Brotherhood supporters of deposed dictator, Mohamed Morsi, take to the streets in an effort to slaughter Christians and those who assisted in the removal of Morsi from power. But you might be asking yourself, “Just who is this Muslim Brotherhood?” If you listen to the U.S. Director of Intelligence, James Clapper, you would hear that “the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is an umbrella term for a variety of movements.” You would also hear him say, “The group is largely secular.” That’s like saying that Campus Crusade for Christ is largely secular. The very name of the organization defines it theology.

In 2004, the FBI searched the home of Ismael Elbarasse after obtaining a search warrant. It seems Elbarasse had been taking a video of the supporting cables on a bridge in Maryland trying to organize a plan to blow up the bridge. The FBI found the “mother lode” of Muslim Brotherhood documents outlining their goals. One document is particular made the intent of the Muslim Brotherhood all too clear. An Explanatory Memorandum of the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America was the most chilling of all the documents found in Elbarasse’s home. This document outlined the main goal of the Muslim Brotherhood in North America. The document states that the Muslim Brotherhood organizations must understand:

“… Their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands … so that … God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.”

The document then lists twenty or so organizations that are encouraged to “work together” to accomplish this task. The list of organizations is like a Who’s Who of Islamic “moderates.” Some of the Muslim Brotherhood front groups listed are:

MSA Muslim Students Association (On most major college campuses)

ISNA Islamic Society of North America (Has close ties to the White House)

ICNA Islamic Circle of North America

CAIR Council on American Islamic Relations (like the ACLA or NAACP for Muslims-Always in the news when IslamistS feel slighted by the American System.)

The information found in Elbarasse’s home lead to the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. History. The U.S. Vs. The Holy Land Foundation case was tried in 2008. The Holy Land Foundation, a front group for the Muslim Brotherhood, was found guilty of 108 counts of funneling over $12 million to Hamas. Hamas is the terrorist organization that wants to push Israel into the sea

Hassan Al Banna started the Muslim Brotherhood in 1928 in Egypt. The group began in response to the decline of the status of Islam in the world as a result of the Industrial Revolution. It was Al Banna’s intent to reestablish the caliphate and establish Sharia law throughout the world making Islam supreme.

There has been a full-fledged attack on the United States by the Muslim Brotherhood without ever lifting a weapon. There are many Islamists involved in high levels of our government including the Department of Homeland Security. There are only a few of our elected officials who are aware of the threat, and our own president is aiding and abetting. Even conservatives like Chris Christie and CPAC have ties to Islamists who have not been forthright about their true intentions. That is why Michelle Bachman has come out against Huma Abedin, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s right hand aid.

Huma Abedin has familial ties to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. Her own mother is involved in a sister organization, The Muslim Sisterhood. Huma herself was a board member of the Muslim Student Association at George Washington University. Remember, the MSA is a Muslim Brotherhood front group.

what does a country like the United States have in common with the Muslim Brotherhood? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! and yet the tentacles of the Muslim Brotherhood run deep into our government. That is why anytime someone like Michelle Bachman, Louis Gohmert, Allen West, or Peter King speak up about Islamic infiltration, they are marginalized, vilified, and identified as a racist bigots. The Islamists try to silence all opposition by throwing the term Islamophobe at their objectors. We must all speak up at Islamist attempts to take our voice.

WHY I BELIEVE THE BIBLE, AND WHY YOU SHOULD TOO

Reason number 8.

It is certainly no secret that Jews and Christians have been persecuted throughout the course of human history. The Jews, in particular, have been pushed around, mocked, beaten, and killed for over 3,000 years. They have been hated for the land that they live on, but more importantly, they have been hated for just being Jewish. The six million Jews that were killed during the Holocaust of World War II were eliminated based solely upon their race; but the Holocaust was not the only incident of Jew hatred throughout history

History records the fact that Mohammad watched the beheading of eight hundred Jews during one day with his twelve year old wife Aisha. Christians have endured a similar experience over the course of history. The Roman Emperor, Nero, enjoyed killing Jews and Christians for sport.

The hatred of Jews and Christians was not limited to Nazis and Romans, however. Liberals hate Christians too; but by far the most vitriolic and diabolical hatred comes from the religion of peace, Islam. The Armenian Genocide of 1915 was responsible for the deaths of 1.5 million Christians at the hands of the Islamic Ottoman Empire.

Islam has a long history of beheading those that will not submit to Islam. Islam is a political system that forces all to convert, submit, or die. Jihad was the vehicle Mohammed used to advance his political agenda. It is the same vehicle used today to get non-Islamists (kafirs) to submit to the Islamic ideology. The trail of blood left throughout the Middle East, Europe, and Africa was directly proportional to the advancement of Islam.

So, why is this one of the reasons that causes me to believe the Bible is true? There are actually two reasons for this. First, It just does not make sense that the world should hate Jews and Christians. The Jewish people have truly been a blessing to the world we live in. They have been instrumental in developing technologies and treatments in the medical field, and have won numerous awards in math and science.

Christians have a message of good news; Christ has come to save the world from sin. Why should Christians be targeted for that? The world should embrace that and be thankful, but it’s not.

This should not surprise us at all, which is my second reason that this causes me to believe the Bible.  Jesus told us EIGHT times in the Gospels that we would be hated because of His name. John 15:18 says that: If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.”

behead-those-who-insult-islam

Mark 13:13 says:You will be hated by all because of my name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”

So why do Christians feel the need to have interfaith dialogues between leaders of Islam and the church? The world hates us because of Him. There is no common ground. We are encouraged to endure to the end.

Daniel describes the final empire or kingdom that is in power before Jesus returns. Chapter 7:25 describes how the leader of this empire “wears down the saints.”

Revelation 13:7 describes how it was given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them;”

The Bible describes how Christians will be killed during this time because of the testimony of Jesus.  Revelation 12:17 describes how Satan hates the woman (Israel) and “goes off to make war with her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.”

This is referring to Jews and Christians. It certainly looks like we’re on the verge of the Bible’s final chapters. The Bible even indicates how Christians will be murdered.

Revelation 20:4: And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God. It is interesting to note that the Koran instructs Muslims to Cut off the heads of the Kafirs.

There is one more clue the Bible gives us about those that will kill us. Jesus tells us in John 6:2 “but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God”

Although this was true during the Reformation, I believe Jesus was referring to this time in human history as well. Islamists claim that they are motivated by devotion to Allah; Islam is the cancer that looks to infect the entire world.

WHY I BELIEVE THE BIBLE, AND WHY YOU SHOULD TOO.

Reason number 7

The Bible makes the claim that, at the very beginning of time, God created the heavens and the earth. The first chapter of Genesis gives a day-by-day account of what was created and describes how God made the earth and populated it with plants, animals for the land, seas, and sky, and then human beings. Genesis specifically credits God with the creation of the Sun, Moon, and stars. The Bible gives credit for the creation in its entirety to God alone.

David writes about the creation in Psalm 19:1-4.

The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night-to-night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard.Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun,”

David’s words indicate that the cosmos itself declares God’s glory. Job too credits God with creating the stars and constellations in Job 9: 9-10.

“Who alone stretches out the heavens
and tramples down the waves of the sea; Who makes the Bear, Orion and the Pleiades, and the chambers of the south;”

IMG_0586

These two were not unique in giving credit for the creation to God though. Jeremiah wrote in 10:12, 16:

“It is tHe who made the earth by His power,
 who established the world by His wisdom;
and by His understanding He has stretched out the heavens. The portion of Jacob is not like these; for the Maker of all is He, and Israel is the tribe of His inheritance; the Lord of hosts is His name.”

 IMG_0468

David and Jeremiah also acknowledge the handiwork of God in the creation of their physical beings as well. David writes in Psalm 139:13-16:

“For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s wombI will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works,
and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
and in Your book were all written
the days that were ordained for me,
when as yet there was not one of them.”

Jeremiah also records his understanding of this fact when he details God’s conversation with him in Jeremiah 1:5:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

It is clear that the writers of the Old Testament understood that God alone is the Supreme Creator of the universe and all it contains. This information about the creation is seen in the New Testament as well. John begins his Gospel by crediting all of creation to Jesus, the second person of the trinity.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being (John 1:1-3).”

Paul writes in his letter to the Colossians (Col. 1:15-17) that not only did Jesus Create everything, but He also holds the creation together by His power.

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

This idea that God is responsible for the creation is so understood by the writers of the Bible, that the writer of the book to the Romans explains that God’s attributes are so obvious through His creation that there is no excuse for unbelief.

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.”

IMG_0467Think about that for a moment. God can be seen throughout His creation; His attributes are clearly seen. They are self-evident. There is no excuse for those who choose to ignore the evidence of God throughout His creation.

Scientists, unwilling to confront their own sinful natures, have come up with theories about the existence of the creation. They present their theories as fact. They discount the Biblical account as fantasy without ever applying the scientific method to the creation. They say the universe and all it contains burst into existence by chance. They also say that evolution is responsible for the dawn of animals and man; again, this too happened by chance. These very educated individuals spend so much contributing the handiwork of the Creator to chance. They should give the God of all creation a chance; the very Creator that loved them before the foundation of the world.
