The Great Harlot on the Beast

BabylonMysteryWoman

I am not sure where most Christians get their information on Bible prophecy. If you are like me, you probably got introduced to Jesus’ return in church and then read some books by prophecy “experts” to put it all together. That was me in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. I was sure Jesus was coming to get me any day. He would rapture me up to keep me from the tribulation. World events were falling into place. The European Union had been spawned and the revived Roman Empire was about to rear its power and authority to encourage everyone to worship the antichrist. Of course, true Christians would not be on earth to see this. True Christians would be raptured into the air to meet Jesus. I read dozens of books on this subject, and I compared the information I had read to the Bible to see if it was plausible.

Those who follow this line of thinking are, sometimes, very strong in their assertions. To some, if you disagree with their theology, you might not be a “real Christian.” It was heresy to disagree with established pre-tribulation end times Bible teachers. And, in truth, I had no reason to. I agreed with them. But I had some unsettled questions in my end-times theology.

My first area of uneasiness had to do with the Old Testament. If God was going to judge the world for its sin, why was Jesus always punishing the nations around Israel upon His return? He was never in South America or Australia punishing those sinners. Jesus was treading the wine press of the wrath of God in Edom. Old Testament prophets pronounced God’s judgment on Babylon, Arabia, Damascus, Tyre, Gaza, and Egypt (modern day Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, and Egypt), all the nations surrounding Israel.

Joel 3:18 says that Egypt will become a waste and Edom will become a desolate wilderness Because of the violence done to the sons of Judah, In whose land they have shed innocent blood. God will avenge their blood. Amos 1:11 says Edom will be punished because he pursued his brother with a sword. Obadiah 1:10 says that Edom will be judged because of violence done to your brother. Zechariah 12:9 states that in that day that God will come out against all those nations that come against Jerusalem. Many of the judgments listed in Revelation are related to blood. Revelation 16:6 says:

6 “for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. They deserve it.”

Another problem I had with what I was reading in books was that I could not imagine a European led government forcing the world to worship anything. It just did not make sense to me. The church and governments in Europe acted independently from one another. I could not imagine them joining forces again, even under an evil regime.

The last problem I had was the idea of a pre-tribulation rapture. I was very familiar with the verses in I Corinthians 15:51-52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. But those verses just explained how we were to be transformed. The verses in Matthew 24 explained that Jesus was going to return and retrieve His elect after the tribulation. I never could see anything to indicate that Christians would be caught up to Jesus before the tribulation in Israel. In fact, Jesus tells us that the world will hate us; we would be persecuted and even killed. Jesus encourages us to endure and overcome.

Several years ago I happened upon a book by Walid Shoebat that answered many of my arguments over modern day prophecy teachers. I had been taught that the harlot of Revelation 17 stood for all the false religions of the Babylonians that had found it’s way into our culture. Christmas, I was told, was celebrated on December 25th in order to coincide with a Babylonian pagan holiday. The same was done with Easter, Ishtar. I was taught that the new age movement was going to join the world together in a spiritual battle against God. One writer identified the Roman Catholic Church as the woman that road upon the beast. The main point was that God was not happy and He would judge us because of it. It all made sense to me.

At this point I believe it is important to lay down some ground rules in order for us to understand what is being said in Revelation 17. The Bible sometimes uses symbolism to make a point. Kingdoms or empires are sometimes referred to as mountains or beasts. A head can also be a kingdom or a king. Water is used to refer to groups of people. A woman is used to identify a spiritual entity. God frequently punished Israel for going after the harlot or playing the harlot instead of being devoted to Him.

Revelation 17 is very descriptive:

And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery, “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus.

The first thing we notice is that John was taken to the desert to observe a woman sitting on a beast. The woman is dressed extravagantly indicting great wealth. She is identified as Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and abominations. Notice also that the woman is drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the witnesses of Jesus.

Follow along with me now. What false religion is in the desert of the Middle East is very wealthy and kills Jews and Christians? This false religion identified as “the mother of harlots” is the greatest false religion of all time. The term “mother of harlots” is used to identify the size and scope of this false religion, not that this religion was the source of all false religions. The terminology is similar to the terminology used to describe the Rose Bowl football game, “the granddaddy of them all.” The phrase “the granddaddy of them all” is used to show the prominence of the Rose Bowl game. It is not used to indicate that the Rose Bowl was the source of all other bowl games. Now we will take a look at what this rich false religion in the desert is riding upon.

Verses 9–11 give us some insight about the beast:

Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits, 10 and they are seven kings; five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little while. 11 The beast which was and is not, is himself also an eighth and is one of the seven, and he goes to destruction.

Let’s put together what we know so far. In the desert, a wealthy false religion full of abominations responsible for killing Jews and Christians is riding on seven empires. During John’s day five of the empires had fallen, one was present during Johns day, and one had not yet appeared and is itself, an eighth empire and one of the seven.

John stated that five empires had already fallen when he was writing Revelation. The fallen empires were the Egyptian, Assyrian, Babylonian, Medo-Persian, and Greek. The Roman Empire was in power during John’s day. John says that the seventh empire, the one after the Roman Empire, has not yet appeared but is also an eighth empire.

The Islamic empire, culminating with the Ottoman Empire, ruled the Middle East for 1300 years, until 1924. Islamic rule ended when Mustafa Kemal Ataturk dissolved the Caliphate at the end of World War 1. This is the fatal wound to the seventh head of the beast in Revelation 13:3. Yet, The Islamic Empire dissolved in 1924 is alive again. The Islamic State has reestablished the Caliphate and controls the same geographical area as the other historical empires. The head wound to an Islamic Empire has been healed. To read an article about the human toll that Islam has imposed upon the world click here.

I will ask the question again. What wealthy false religion in the desert is intent on killing Jews and Christians? Certainly the Ottoman Empire and the Islamic State are motivated by this false religion of Islam. Revelation 17:14 says:

14 “These will wage war against the Lamb (JESUS), and the Lamb (JESUS) will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

Revelation 17:18 Identifies this false religion (Islam) as the great city that reins over the kings of the earth. Mecca is the birthplace of Islam. Because of the importance of oil to the world, Saudi Arabia has influenced kings and governments. The world has turned a blind eye to the blood thirsty, anti-Semitic, sexual perversions that are inherent to Islam. Revelation 18:3 says:

For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality.”

What wine in the desert has made the kings drunk? It is most certainly the oil that Saudi Arabia sells to the world that causes the world to turn a blind eye.

It is interesting that Revelation 17:16 says the Beast (Islamic State) will hate the harlot (Mecca) and make her desolate and naked and will eat her flesh and burn her up with fire. The Qur’an calls for the elimination of Kafirs (unbelievers) and hypocrites (Muslims that live contrary to sharia). The Islamic State has already made threats against the Kaaba in Mecca.

Here is the bottom line for what is happening when Jesus returns. God is going to punish Israel, once again, for unfaithfulness. This is the tribulation that people are always talking about. This has nothing to do with America; it has everything to do with Israel. Once Jerusalem is attacked, Jesus will return and obliterate, once and for all, the false religion of Islam. He will punish the nations for shedding the blood of Jews and Christians. He will punish them for their hatred of Israel. He will establish his kingdom in Jerusalem. Only then will there finally be true peace in Israel.

Who is Jesus, Really???

cross-silhouette1

Can we be really honest for a second? I mean, can we all put away all of our preconceived opinions and look at some facts? Can we have a mature discussion without getting our feelings hurt? After we look at all of the facts it will be easier to make an intelligent, informed determination on what is correct. Are you really interested in determining the truth?

This may sound like a simple question to many of you, but I want to talk about who Jesus is. I’m sure most of you have probably already made a determination about Jesus. I’m sure many of you feel that nothing could change your mind about Him. But I believe there are many out there that have wrong information about who, exactly, Jesus is.

Most people that identify with the Christian faith argue that Jesus is the Son of God. They are relentless about presenting Jesus as God. Muslims would argue that Jesus was a prophet like Mohammad, but he is not God. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe Jesus was Michael the archangel before his earthly incarnation. Mormons believe that Jesus is a god, and that we all can become gods too.

With so many different perspectives on whom Jesus is one thing is abundantly clear…we can’t all be right. What can account for the large variety of perspectives and divergent views? Paul explains in 2 Corinthians 11 that false apostles and deceitful workers disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. Paul continues in verse 14, “No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” The bottom line is this. Jesus and Paul both warned extensively about people that would try to hide or pervert the truth. Most of these false teachers and prophets appear to be good, honest truth seekers, but that is just wishful thinking. We need to discover the truth. Our very lives depend on what we think of Jesus. John 8:24 says:

Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.

In order to discover the truth, we need to read the Bible and let the Bible interpret the Bible. Together, let’s see what the Bible says about Jesus.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1

I am sure it would come as no surprise to God-fearing people to hear that God is responsible for creation. The Bible does not just attribute creation to God, however. The Bible specifically identifies Jesus as the creator.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. John 1:1-3

You might be asking yourself at this point “It says the Word was with God, and the Word was God, where is the mention of Jesus?” John explains in great detail the return of Jesus in the book of Revelation. John sees Jesus coming back in all His glory and identifies Him as The Word of God.

His name is called The Word of God… And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Revelation 19:13,16

What else does the Bible say about the Word of God? John 1:14 says:

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us.

The book of Isaiah gives some great insight into the true nature of Jesus. Isaiah chapter 9 is a popular “Messianic Prophecy” that gives information to the Jews about the coming Messiah. It says:

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Did you catch that? The child that would be born is called Mighty God and Eternal Father. How can a child be called those names? He cannot, unless that child is God. Not a god, but The God. Some may argue that Jesus Himself never called himself God. Actually, there are many occasions where He did just that. Phillip asks Jesus to show him the Father. Jesus responds:

He who has seen Me has seen the Father
John 14:9

Jesus also stated that “I and the Father are One.” When the religious leaders questioned Jesus about Abraham, Jesus said:

“Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM.” John 8:58

This statement was a reference back to Moses’ encounter with God at the burning bush. Moses asked God who he should tell the Israelites had sent him. God answered:
I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” In this very short statement Jesus was able to draw a connection between Himself, and the “I AM” of the Old Testament. The religious leaders of the day did not miss this and wanted to kill him for blasphemy.

Do you know what God the Father said about Jesus? The writer of the book of Hebrews records some statements that God made about Jesus.

But of the Son He says,
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
And the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.
Hebrews 1:8

Of Jesus, Colossians 2:9 says “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form.” It certainly appears that the Bible, religious leaders, disciples, God the Father, and even Jesus Himself recognized Him as a member of the Godhead. Shouldn’t we be able to do the same?

The Bible describes Jesus as the beginning and ending, the first and the last, the Holy One of Israel, I AM, the Prince of Peace, the Angel of the Lord, the Alpha and Omega, the Righteous Judge, the Living One, the Lamb of God, the Rose of Sharon, the Name above every Name, Wonderful, Counselor, Emanuel, God with us, Faithful, True, the Way, the Light, and KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Will The Real God of Creation Please Stand Up!!!

There are many in the world today that make the claim that the God of the Bible and Allah are the same deity. There are even those that identify with the Christian faith that make the claim that when Muslims pray to Allah they are really just praying to the God of the Bible; they are just confused. These claims mostly come from those involved in interfaith dialogues with followers of Islam. Some of those involved try to show similarities between the two faiths in an effort to demonstrate that we are all the same and can get along; after all, we even worship the same god…but do we really?

The word for “god” in Arabic is allah. Arabic speaking Christians refer to the God of the Bible as Allah. Allah is not His name, but his position or title. The Allah “God” of the Bible is called Yahweh. That is much different than the god of Islam. Allah is the name of the Islamic deity.

The God of the Bible makes some very bold claims about His creation and His character. Genesis 1:1 states “In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth. John 1:1-3 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.” Revelation 19:13 says, “His name is called The Word of God.” John 1:14 states, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

Yahweh is the God of Israel. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The same cannot be said for Allah. Allah is just one of the deities the pagans in Arabia worshipped.

The Bible makes the claim that God cannot lie. Jesus is identified as the way, the Truth, and the life. In Revelation 19:11, John identifies the one riding on the white horse (Jesus) as being called Faithful and True. The Bible forbids lying and Revelation 21:8 identifies the lake that burns with fire as the final dwelling place of all liars.

The Bible identifies Satan as the father of lies who was a liar from the beginning. He is a liar, deceiver, and schemer. The Qur’an teaches in 3:54 that Allah is the best of deceivers. 1 John 2:22 asks, “Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. “ The Qur’an teaches in 9:30 that the Christians call Christ the Son of God…God’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth. Surah 19:92 says, “It is not consistent with the majesty of Allah most gracious that He should beget a son.”

Here we have a problem. The foundation of the Christian faith is based upon the Biblical teaching of the Deity of Jesus, His death by crucifixion, and His resurrection. The Qur’an denies each of these foundational elements. We need to remember that it is alleged that Allah transmitted the information for the Qur’an directly to Muhammad.

It does not seem that the Muslims that worship Allah are confused. I would say they are deceived. The ones that are confused are those that claim Allah and Yahweh are the same deity. But, if they are not the same deity than who is Allah?

Muhammad was from the Quraysh tribe in the area of which is now known as the Arabian Desert. The moon god, Allah, was just one of the many gods the pagans worshipped before Muhammad arrived on the scene and demanded that Allah should reign supreme. This moon god had been worshipped for more than 1,500 years and those that worshipped it are even referenced in the book of Judges. Judges chapters seven and eight tell the story of Gideon’s conquest of the worshippers of the moon god. These worshippers had killed some kinsmen of Gideon. These men wore pendants and their camels wore crescent ornaments. This false deity has been around for thousands of years. The followers of this moon god have always been at opposition with the God of the Bible.

Consider this, the Bible identifies Israel as the specific location for God to fulfill his promise to Abraham and his descendants. God promised the land to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob’s sons became the tribes of the land of Israel. They were Jewish. Jesus, our Savior, descended from the tribe of Judah and from the line of David the second king of Israel. Esau, Jacob’s brother, sold his birthright and was not from the line that would give birth to the Messiah. Genesis 16:12 says that Esau would dwell to the east of all his brothers. Ishmael as well, was not the heir of choice chosen by God through which our Messiah would come. Yet, Islam teaches that the line of promise went through Ishmael.

If the Jewish people are God’s chosen people to bring about the birth of the Messiah, if they are the ones that were promised the land of Israel as an everlasting possession, then why does the Qur’an teach that Jews descended from apes and pigs? Why do the Islamists promise to push the Jews in Israel into the sea? Why do the Islamists look to dominate all other religions? Why do the Islamists behead Christians? Why do the Islamists burn down churches? Why do the Islamists deny the cross? Why do the Islamists demand that we silence our criticism about Muhammad? Why does Shariah law call for the death of Muslim apostates?

Revelation 12:17 declares that the dragon (Satan) was enraged with the woman (Israel) and went off to make war with the rest of her offspring (Christians), who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Who hates Israel, Jews and Christians more than any other group on earth? Islamists that want to dominate the globe, deny the death and resurrection of Jesus, and want to establish Islamic law across the globe. It would serve us well not to side with the enemies of the one TRUE God.

20 Obama Quotes About Islam Contrasted With 20 Obama Quotes About Christianity

Taking Back America

From The Truth
By Michael Snyder, on September 27th, 2013

Obama messiah

You are about to read some of the most shocking quotes that Barack Obama has ever uttered in public.  A few of these have been widely circulated, but most of them are very obscure.  Even though he claims to be a Christian, throughout his political career Obama has repeatedly attacked traditional Biblical Christianity and he has a very long history of anti-Christian actions.  In public speeches he has repeatedly cast doubt on the Bible, he has repeatedly stated that he does not believe that Jesus is necessary for salvation, and he has consistently said that he believes that all “people of faith” believe in the same God.  At the same time, Obama has always referred to Muhammed as “the Prophet”, he has always expressed great love and respect for Islam, and he has even removed all references to…

Are you a ‘believer in exile’ — I invite you to try God, again

By Anne Graham Lotz
Published September 08, 2013
FoxNews.com

Have you tried God?

Did you used to go to church?

Why aren’t you going to church now?

Without implying you are a statistic, research indicates that 83% of all American adults consider themselves to be Christian, but the majority of them are unchurched.

Why?

The primary reason people avoid church, pollsters say, even though they consider themselves Christian, is because of wounds they have received within the family of faith.

Has that been your experience? Is that why you are hanging out on the periphery of God’s people?

I understand. I, too, have been driven from church fellowship by wounds that were inflicted on me by other church members.

The primary reason people avoid church, pollsters say, even though they consider themselves Christian, is because of wounds they have received within the family of faith.

I have found myself living as a “believer in exile,” not running from God, but tired of putting up with those who call themselves by His name, yet behave in an ungodly manner.

Jesus understands, too. It never ceases to amaze me that the most vicious lies, the most violent attacks, the ultimate rejection of Jesus, came not from the Romans or the Greeks or the pagans or the secularists, but from Israelites who were considered, by themselves and others, the children of God. God’s people.

One primary reason I have not forsaken my own Christian faith is that I know Jesus “gets it.” He was literally wounded…crucified…by very religious people who considered themselves God’s representatives on earth, but were nothing of the sort. They were wicked, sinful pretenders.

So I refuse to let religious phonies destroy my heart for the One who loves me, who understands and feels my pain, and who draws close to me when I am wounded. I refuse to be robbed of life’s greatest treasure—a personal, permanent, passionate relationship with God through faith in Jesus, and the healing of wounds that He offers.

As painful and devastating as wounds inflicted by God’s people can be, they have made me more determined to authentically live out what I believe.

I am deeply motivated to know God. I want to know Him as He truly is, not through the distorted reflection of those who call themselves by His name. And I want to make Him known to others as accurately, winsomely, clearly, and compellingly as I can.

And God is knowable. He has declared that He is light. (1 John 1:5) Since one of the primary characteristics of light is that it makes itself visible, God is saying He has made Himself visible.

He can be clearly seen in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. And He can be seen in the pages of the unique revelation of Himself, which we call the Bible.

If your focus in on the people of God, the Light can seem dim or even dark. So don’t look at them. Look at Him.

Try God…again.

“The Inconsistencies of Mohammed and Allah’s Book”…or “The Moronic Qur’anic Islamic Conundrum”

text21

You will never convince individuals that hold the Qur’an “near and dear to their hearts” that the Bible is more reliable than the Qur’an by relying on archeological evidence or textual criticism. The Qur’an devotees have been conditioned to view the Bible as a book that has been corrupted in the 1st century and is, therefore, unreliable. The truth of the matter is that there is plenty of evidence in the Qur’an itself that shows the Bible to be a reliable source. A few simple questions to the Qur’an devotees should cause them to question what they believe, or cause death and destruction to those in the vicinity.

One would think that the followers of Islam were made of glass. When confronted with challenging questions about the Qur’an, Islamists tend to shatter and fall apart. They try to silence critics by claiming Islamophobia or slander, and pitching fits by trying to destroy as much property and injure as many people as possible. It would seem this is counterproductive, unless one is trying to silence all critics and push forward an illogical and untruthful ideology and agenda.

Consider a few facts. Jesus warns us in Matthew 7:15 to beware of false prophets. In Matthew 24:11 He warns that false prophets will come and mislead many. Paul warns that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). Paul warns us that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is so unique that even if an angel from heaven comes and preaches a different gospel, contrary to what Paul has taught, let him be accursed. Mohammed would have been wise to heed these warnings.

It might surprise you to find that the Qur’an teaches the following about Jesus.

According to the Qur’an:

Qur’an 3:46 (Jesus born of a virgin)

She (Mary) said: My Lord! How can I have a child when no mortal hath touched me? He said: So (it will be). Allah createth what He will. If He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is.

Qur’an 3:48  (Jesus performed miracles)

And will make him a messenger unto the Children of Israel, (saying): Lo! I come unto you with a sign from your Lord. Lo! I fashion for you out of clay the likeness of a bird, and I breathe into it and it is a bird, by Allah’s leave. I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I raise the dead, by Allah’s leave. And I announce unto you what ye eat and what ye store up in your houses. Lo! herein verily is a portent for you, if ye are to be believers.

3:45 (Jesus is the Messiah)

And remember) when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a word from him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, illustrious in the world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (unto Allah).

That is where the similarities between the Bible and Qur’an end. The Qur’an begins to teach a different gospel that denies the deity of Christ, His crucifixion, and His resurrection, cornerstones of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

According to the Qur’an:

Qur’an 5:116-117 Jesus is not divine.

Qur’an 4:157 Jesus did not die on a cross.

Qur’an 4:158 Jesus did not rise from the dead.

Qur’an 10:68 Jesus is not God’s Son.

According to the Bible:

1 John 2:22 Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.

1 John 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.

Despite the Qur’an’s departure from the True Gospel of Jesus Christ, It is fascinating to see the Qur’an teach that the Bible is reliable and unable to be changed. Why would Mohammed or Allah instruct the followers of Islam that the Bible was given as a guide and unable to be changed? If Islam began in the 6th century, how can the Islamists claim the Bible was corrupted in the 1st century, and yet state its reliability in the Qur’an?

Qur’an 3:3

He hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture with truth, confirming that which was (revealed) before it, even as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel. (3) Aforetime, for a guidance to mankind; and hath revealed the Criterion of right and wrong.

Qur’an 10:94

And if thou (Muhammad) art in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto thee, then question those who read the Scripture (that was) before thee.

Qur’an 7:157

Those who follow the messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them. He will enjoin on them that which is right and forbid them that which is wrong.

Qur’an 5:68

Say O People of the Scripture! Ye have naught (of guidance) till ye observe the Torah and the Gospel and that which was revealed unto you from your Lord.

Why would Allah instruct Mohammed in this way if the Bible was corrupted in the 1st century? The Qur’an instructs Muslims again and again to read the Christian Scriptures. In fact, the Qur’an explains that no one can change the words of Allah, which begs the question…than who could have altered them?

Qur’an 6:114-115

Shall I seek other than Allah for judge, when He it is Who hath revealed unto you (this) Scripture, fully explained? Those unto whom We gave the Scripture (aforetime) know that it is revealed from thy Lord in truth. So be not thou (O Muhammad) of the waverers. (114) Perfected is the Word of thy Lord in truth and justice. There is naught that can change His words. He is the Hearer, the Knower

Qur’an 18:27

And recite that which hath been revealed unto thee of the Scripture of thy Lord. There is none who can change His words, and thou wilt find no refuge beside Him

This is what David Wood http://www.answeringmuslims.com calls the Islamic dilemma. If the Bible is true and God’s word – Islam is false, because Islam preaches another gospel. If the Bible is false and not the Word of God, then Islam is false because the Qur’an points to the Bible. Either way…Islam is false. Oh, I don’t know…I think Mohammed should have thought that one through a bit better!
